Planet Loves Trees
Planet Loves Trees is a start-up company based in Finland committed to combat climate change by enabling companies to reduce emissions and supporting reforestation and forest protection worldwide.
Our Vision and Dream
To build a future where climate change is reversed and the forest ecosystems are restored while empowering local communities.
To act as a catalyst for hope and transformational change in a world challenged by rapidly progressing climate change and deforestation.
Climate change is one of the greatest challenges of our time. Excessive greenhouse gases from human activities are causing global warming and climate change by blocking heat from escaping the Earth. Forest degradation contributes to around 20 % of the global carbon emissions.
According to the international scientific community we need to phase out the use of fossil fuels AND enhance the natural carbon sinks by in order to keep global warming well below 2 degrees celsius. Forest conservation and reforestation are the most effective means to increase the natural carbon sinks. Forests prevents desertification and the loss of biodiversity. Trees create humidity and improve the local climate leading to increased agricultural yields. Forest protection in tropical areas improves the living conditions of communities in areas most vulnerable to climate change.
We believe that proactive actions of individuals and companies can drive the needed change to save the planet for future generations. These environmental actions have a positive, direct impact on the climate. They also show decision makers that the society is ready for the required transformation.
We founded Planet Loves Trees to provide a system and cooperation network for easy participation in climate action. Planet Loves Trees currently has several tree planting and forest restoration projects around the world.

“Many people, both young and old are concerned about the environment, climate change and the future of our planet. I want to make a difference and to show to my children that I am trying to make a better future for them. This is why I started Planet Loves Trees.”
Niklas is an experienced consultant and project manager with a history of working in the university and education management sector as well as in the government. As the former Head of Department at Novia University’s department of Natural Resources and the Environment he has a comprehensive understanding about forestry and forestation management. Niklas has also worked as a volunteer for several development aid projects. In his opinion we are running out or time and cannot wait for politics to mitigate climate change with regulatory measures.
“Our future holds many challenges. I believe that the most threatening of them is climate change and its consequences.“
Nina worked extensively with international migration affairs and crime prevention with the Finnish government, before changing course to a career for sustainable development. She wrote her Master Thesis on the role of forests for mitigating climate change. You can read more about the Thesis here.
Her goal is to raise awareness on climate change and its impacts on our society, so as to enable the long overdue social transformation. Today she dedicate herself to supporting reforestation projects and strengthening local communities in areas most vulnerable to climate change.
